Antique primitive African tribal lion chair *PLEASE CONTACT US FOR OUT OF AREA SHIPPING BEFORE PLACING ORDER**

An early 20th century lion throne chair from the Fon tribe of the Benin region of West Africa. The throne chair is dug out carved from one incredibly dense African hardwood log. The four lions which form the two lower supports and two armrests are each a representation of a former ahosu (king) of the Fon people. The Fon have a strong connection to their royal heritage.

The chair is a wonderful sculptural interior design piece which is surprisingly comfortable. The wear and tear with the age related cracks help to create a wonderful patina. The cracks have formed due to natural weaknesses in the grain of the timber opening up over many years. Structurally in good condition.

Dimensions: 28"x27"x16".
